I Love the Country

I love the country. It is usually quiet and peaceful. I very rarely get to see the sunrise, I am too lazy to get up before 8am most days. But I  do get to see a lot of sunsets. I get a few pictures that really touch my awww and so beautiful feelings. This is a sunset taken from  Sunset our north porch.

This picture is a sunrise that I happened to be up for.

Sunrise Sept. 20, 2008

full rainbow July 11, 2008 other half full rainbow July 11, 2008 And these two are of the same rainbow. It was so big I had to take two pictures of it. This doesn’t really do it justice though. It was really gorgeous! Some mornings are just so quiet and peaceful. One morning last winter we had snow and it was frosty. The sun was just coming up and I was standing at the horse pen fence watching my horses and donkey as they ate their breakfast. The sun hit the snow across the road which is a hay field. It was glorious. It was so bright and pretty and it sparkled like a field of diamonds. It had a slight blue tint to it also. I can still see it in my mind as I describe it. I wanted to get a picture of it but I didn’t have my camera of course. And I didn’t want to move even though it was cold. You just don’t get this sight in the city. I don’t know how long I stood there, but it was awhile. I just couldn’t take my eyes off of it.

There are days when it is not so quiet. Planting time, harvest time, hunting season and windy days. The wind was  blowing strong today and I don’t like it when it blows that hard. I get headaches and get clogged up. The temperature was really nice. About 70 degrees. I would like to have sat out on the porch. The house was colder than outside, so I opened a few windows on the north and east. The wind was from the southwest and it warmed up to just the right temperature in the house. Of course by about 4pm it started to cool off so the windows got shut. (By my husband) But the good thing is the furnace won’t come on for quite awhile tonight.

Before I sign off, I have to tell this. Yesterday when I went out to take a look at the horses, I had to laugh. My mustang was sitting on her haunches like a big red and white dog! I had seen her do this one other time after a roll I think. It was so cute and so funny. I came in to get my camera, but of course by the time I got back out the door she was up on all fours again. She had heard me laugh.

Well, it is after 11pm. I am getting droopy and need to go to bed. Goodnight everyone. Stay safe and God Bless.
