MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

Well it’s here. Christmas day. We will be getting together at my daughter’s to have a simple lunch and open presents. My Mother will be there. Wishing and praying for a happy day.

It is supposed to be a little warmer today than yesterday. About mid 30s. It started out with a wind chill below zero I think yesterday. It felt like it anyway when we were out getting bales in for the calves. They have settled down now. And the cows have moved off to their bale of hay. We started weaning them about a week and a half ago. It was pretty noisy for a couple of days. Mostly it was one or two cows calling to their calves and one or two of the biggest calves calling. They were the oldest calves too. Big babies!

We did get our freezing rain, sleet and snow on December 22 and 23. I would much rather have several inches of snow than any icy rain. It was pretty slow driving getting Brian to work and home. At least for me. I was not the one with a torn off fender along the side of the road, or being pulled up onto a  tow truck trailer. Thankfully, and I do hope no one was injured.

We didn’t get too much snow. We were supposed to get anywhere from 3-6 inches originally, and it got bumped up to 4-7 inches. We are guessing we only got about 3-5 inches. We didn’t measure. We do get a lot of drifts sometimes, but they weren’t too bad this time.

The snow is pretty. It always looks so clean and bright. I do like to see a fresh snow fall. Before it gets all dirty and piled up along side the streets and roads.

Have a Merry Christmas everyone. Enjoy your day.

Stay safe and God Bless!

  1. Roma, yes the snow was pretty and I agree it was a good day to stay in. The fireplace has been feeling nicer than usual to me lately. Today was worse though. Wind chills were just above zero.
