2014, The Year of the Horse

According to the Chinese calendar, it is the year of the horse. It is my favorite animal. And this horse is kicking the crap out of me. This winter and now this spring has not been nice to me. I was sick a few weeks ago with some sort of sinus or allergy crud. Now I am sick with Viral Gastroenteritis.  AKA– the stomach flu. I am into my sixth day of it. I am ready for it to go away and stay away. I finally went to see the doctor yesterday.  She said it would pretty much have to run its course. Or rather that is what the information said that she gave me to read and listed what I should and should not eat or drink. I am almost through it. I hope. It can run from 3-8 days. I am feeling a little better today and can eat some. But I am afraid to try too much. And if it tastes good for a change, I always want more. But…. I have been trying to be good and drink lots of water, Gatorade and any liquid. I was able to eat a baked potato with a little butter, salt and pepper for lunch today. So far so good. It tasted really good. I was told I could try that and start trying to bring in more fiber foods. And surprisingly yogurt because of its probiotics. That tastes good to me too. Mostly, now I am just wore out when I try to do anything. Which isn’t much, but I am getting stiff sitting around all day.

I did make the 30 mile trip to see my doctor yesterday and by the time I got back home I was really zapped. I rested until Hubby came home from work, and since my son was still at work, I went out and helped put in a bale of hay for the horses and cows. It was a drizzly, cold day and so I was really wiped out and went to bed at 8:30pm last night. I am a real weeny when it comes to being sick.

There was a nice day or two over the last weekend, but of course that was when I was the sickest. The few days I would like to have sat out on the porch, the wind was blowing 30-40 mph. I just can’t seem to win for losing. And the last couple days have been rainy. But we need the rain. I know I will get better and I will be out and about and doing something useful. Or fun. I guess the trail ride I was invited to go on this coming Saturday is pretty much out of the question too. Besides I was supposed to help at our local Lions Club that same morning. It is their annual fund raiser pancake feed. I love pancakes too. Guess I better not try those either yet. I think if I can’t go on the ride I can’t help there either. Hmmmm. Lol. I told Hubby I would see how it is going by then. He has been really good about helping out with his own supper and understanding.  My son is not working and he wanted to go up and eat, so I think he is going to help a little. Maybe. We’ll see. We have a lot of stuff here at the house that has to go to the church where the pancake feed is. I told him he did have to help Hubby load that up and take it up there.

Well, this is going to be a short post and I need to check on the laundry that I am trying to get done today, so

Stay safe and God Bless!
