How Bright Are Your ‘Whites’?

Isaiah 64

But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. Isaiah 64:6

My inspiration for today’s devotion was from the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association website.

Billy Graham remembered when his wife did laundry, and the whites looked so bright until she hung them on the line outside. In contrast to the snow, her ‘whites’ weren’t so white.

If we compare our goodness to what God considers good and holy, our righteousness is as filthy rags.

That is why we needed Jesus as our pathway, our provision, our bridge to a Holy and God. We can never obtain the righteousness that God desires in our own power. God made Jesus our reconciliation.
