I am sooooooo excited about the Equifest of Kansas this year. It is going to be in Topeka, Kansas for the first time. It has been in Wichita, Kansas for several years. I have been there a few times and have always loved it. If you are into horses or equines of any kind, this is the place to go. They have lots of good trainers, performers, horse demonstrations, clinicians and of course shopping!
It is always in February. It started out being around my birthday. Then got moved to the middle of the month around Valentines day. I think that was because at the end of February there was always a State Wrestling Championship at the same time in the same area. The Kansas Coliseum was a great place for the Equifest. It had three barns for different things at different times and lots of shopping. I didn’t know they had renovated it. I don’t know if that is why it moved to Topeka this year, but I am so glad. I can make a 20-30 minute drive instead of a three hour drive one way to see all the horses and mules I want to see for three days. And not have to spend the night in a hotel. Unless Hubby and I just want to get away from home for a night. 🙂 Of course one of the good things about going to the Wichita area, was that we could spend some time with my brother and sister-in-law and their family when we stayed overnight. They live not too far from Wichita. And we don’t get to see them but a few times a year.
The Equifest is back to the original last weekend of February, which is around my birthday again. I have already informed Hubby that is is my birthday weekend. And I am planning on going. At least two of the three days. Of course it will depend on the weather. Good old Kansas can be very unpredictable. It could be no jacket weather to below freezing in February. Or it could start out no jacket and end with a parka. All in one day! Let alone in one weekend. Anyway I would like to invite any equine lover, or anyone just interested in learning about equines, or just need to get away and check out Topeka, Kansas in February, to come and see the Equifest of Kansas. I especially want to personally invite Tom and his wife from Back Home in Bromont in Canada to come if possible. Tom invited us to come to Canada to a carriage driving competition when he found out that I was interested in learning to drive. I couldn’t make it because of calves being born and financial reasons, but I really appreciated the offer to come. I would loved to have been able to make a trip to Canada. And I would love to meet anyone of my readers, followers and blogging friends that could make it.
Have a great week everyone!
Stay Safe and God Bless!

My donkey, Jenny, first day home after I adopted her and Lily from the BLM in September 2006. And they were wild. Still is! 😀 Love them both.
Lily on the same day.
Oh, how exciting! I would love to come, but that’s quite the drive from here.
Love seeing your babies. Both were, and still are (I bet)!
